  • Jun 01, 2015 I'm getting a message that says 'Core Audio is not available' whenever I try to record in Logic Pro X. I'm using a MacBook Pro. Hopefully, the Core Audio drivers are still working, and you just receive a misleading error message.

Two basic trouble shooting measures to try, independent of your Software Versions:

  • Can other Applications produce sound (e.g, iTunes, Quicktime)? If yes, then the problem seems to be a GarageBand Problem
  • Can you work with GB from another user account? If yes, then probably some preference settings in your account are corrupted - if not, then you may need to reinstall GarageBand.
