Photoshop and El Capitan Mac OS 10.11. Adobe has discovered the compatibility issues listed below with running Photoshop CC 2015 with Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan). We recommend that customers do their own testing on a non-production partition to ensure that new operating systems work with their current hardware and drivers. Photoshop Elements 11 or 12 may slow down or become unresponsive in Yosemite. In the tech note Photoshop Elements stops responding after Mac OS update to Yosemite, Adobe says this is a problem related to the trackpad and can be worked around by using a mouse. Apparently this is not a problem in the current version, Photoshop Elements 13. And it still is. Elements has a new version each year and usually costs $99 unless you catch it on sale. Photoshop CC and Lightroom are $120 a year, and you get so much more. It doesn’t make sense for professional photographers to purchase Elements any more. It hardly makes sense for serious hobbyists to buy it.
