Resolving this issue

Take care when editing the registry, as an incorrect change can lead to serious problems. Export any keys you plan to make changes to in case you need to restore them.

  1. Check the following registry key on the device: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowssafercodeidentifiers0paths
  2. You should find a sub-key that contains ItemData of C:Program FilesAvast Software, which prevents Avast from installing
    • The sub-key will be an ID within {*}, e.g. {e37cdf1c-d301-4aa5-b828-1fc92be6db7f}
  3. Delete the key (there may be multiple registry keys containing other restrictions to block AV software)
  4. Once removed, rerun the installation package and CloudCareAntivirus will proceed to install correctly

If there are some legitimate restrictions in place, please contact your system administrator.
